The level of stress and overwhelm I see and feel through client’s muscles over the years during Christmas and the Holidays weighs heavy on many – mostly women!! I have found that it takes many into February and March to find their calm, and rebound from all the extras on their plates. The good news is that our Young Living healing essential oils can partner with us daily to help be energized, focused, calm, and productive in the midst of working, planning, cooking and shopping. Aromatherapy diffused in the office or home is a simple way to help benefit from smelling what Nature offers us for natural answers. What follows are some tips to use and the specific oils ~ single or blends to help remain calm, restored, and balanced every single day.
1. Begin the day in a state of Calm & Gratitude – whether in Prayer, meditation, yoga, or a walk, place a few drops of Valor (3429) for courage and strength beginning your day. Can be put on the neck, heart, behind the ears, and some on the feet for balance and alignment all day. Gratitude (3346) allows an awareness of the blessings in your life, and can be smelled, worn and wrists and heart, and on the forehead.
2. Write your TO BE list – not to do, as we are human BEINGS, NOT DOINGS! Who are you choosing to be today, and in that moment, drop Lavender (3575) in your hands after rubbing together, and breath deeply, stating your wish “to be” calm. Or Grounding (3348) for balance and clarity and “to be” grounded for the day – no matter what. This can be any oil you are called to use that day, right where you are.
3. Choose to move – exercise is the greatest tool for stress management – offering oxygen to the body/brain, as movement is medicine. This could be a simple walk somewhere in your day – inside or out, and staying true to your normal routine of exercise ~ not deviating due to time constraints. To get moving – try some uplifting En-R-Gee (3336) on your wrists, inside elbows, neck and heart and smell mightily before your venture. Peppermint (3614) is a fresh, minty invigorating oil to combat mental or physical fatigue.
4. Time Management – be gentle on yourself as to just how much you can truly do in a day, and not be totally depleted in the end. It is possible to have JOY (3372) on you and in you, so use this as a perfume, or cologne, as a reminder to be present as to your pace and choices. Saying yes to everyone may not be in your best interest, although feeding a deep desire within. Asking for help within the family is totally reasonable and needed for support.
5. Eat and drink with intention – Stay hydrated with water through the day (half your body weight in ounces) and add a drop of Lemon (3578) or Citrus Fresh (3318) to keep your immune system strong. Research shows that sugar depresses the immune system, so be aware of the healthier options, like yogurt, kefir, fruits, etc. Thieves (3423)daily through these months can support the immune system and keep your body at a high frequency of health so you do not succumb to other’s illnesses.
6. Get Touched and Be Touched – get a massage to connect to yourself allowing a state of calm, and peace, with no stimulation but music and the healing balm of touch. We cannot thrive without touch, as kittens will die without the licking of the mother cat after birth, we all need to be touched regularly for our health. The beautiful oil of Gathering (3342) is perfect during this time, to get past the chaotic energy of the day. And giving back to those in need ~ touching another life with your deep Blessings, offers us a moment of Transformation (3546) to empower and help others.
7. Get great rest – Sleep is pivotal whether under stress or not, so set the tone, and roll some Tranquill roll on (3533) on your neck, spine, wrists, behind the ears to the brain, and smell before bed. Peace and Calming (3393) is a gentle blend that calms, and quiets the mind, while winding down the day. Removing all stimulation before bed allows for the pineal gland, along with darkness to get the message of sleep after a Blissful & Calm day!!
