Following up on the previous post on our immune systems, here are some simple, easy and effective ways to address supporting it, and also to combat a pathogen or symptom ASAP upon feeling an upset.
PREVENTIVE: These are all applications and choices that I use daily
Daily drinking Ningia Red 1-3 ounces in water or juice, as it is a huge immune system booster and full of anti-oxidents through the wolfberry and citrus oil.
Daily dropping lemon oil or Cirtus Fresh in my drinks – one or 2 drops
Daily dropping Thieves blend on my feet – inside the side of the big toe, the arch area and the side of the heel – supporting my entire body through the spinal cord area (vita-flex)
Daily garge with Thieves mouthwash, first thing in the am to kill overnight bacteria, or at the first onset of a sore throat.
Diffusing essential oils in my home and office to help purify and clean any harmful ariborne germs and bacteria. Cold air difusers have so many beneficial uses for general health from mold, odors and fungus to helping mental clarity, headaches and anxiety.
Daily taking Omega Blue with the best anti-oxident protection from clove and myrrh oils, and also the lemongrass and German chamomile along with the omega-3 fats from fish oil. The enteric coating allows the softgels to protect the fish oil from oxidation and stomach acids, so they can be time-released in the intestines.
FOR SYMPTOMS:
For the throat: gargle with Thieves mouthwash, suck on a Thieves lozenger (soft or hard), roll Breathe Again on the throat, chest and neck, drink lots of fluids, with lemon or Thieves dropped in it.
Sore throat blend:
2 drops of Eucalyptus globulus
5 drops lemon
2 drops wintergreen
Inhale 3-6 times daily, or diffuse or gargle with the above 4-6 times daily. Topically with a 50:50 dilution, apply 3 drops to the throat, chest and back on neck 2-4 times daily. Putting oregano or thyme along with the Peppermint on the throat area diluted, (one of each) can be a very effective way of killing the pathogen from the outside in besides the other ways.
For a cough: gargle with Peppermint, Thieves or lemon oils 4-6 times daily.
Cough Blend:
3 drops of oregano
10 drops of Eucalyptus globulus
Place diluted 50:50 on chest, neck and upper back, inhale, and apply on the Vita flex points of the feet for the lungs (the ball of your foot below the second toe). Using the Breath Again roll on is easy as the respiratory supportive oils in it can be applied simply and anywhere you may be.
Head aches: Knowing the cause of the headaches is paramount to applying essential oils for support. They can be caused by dehydration, be hormonal, aggravated by stress, caused by sugar imbalances, or sinus symptoms just to name a few.
Generally speaking after having said that, peppermint, wintergreen and PanAway act very quickly, and effective for relief. I usually like to mention the application of ice on the neck or temples to further help with pain and discomfort. A simple addition can be the diffusing of peppermint and eucalyptus also 3-5 times daily for 15 minutes to help (4 and 6 drops).
